"With Love"

That's the Challenge this week over at Daisy & Dandelion and
this is my second week as Guest Designer, so here is my little
take on the challenge. Please hop on over and join in, there are
so many delightful variations for this one and also take a look
at all the fabby cards that all those clever crafty people have
made!!!
So, for this one the papers I have used are K & Co and Basic Grey,
I used my W & N water colour palette to colour him and distress
the outside of the oval with a mixture of reds and browns to give it
a Mahogany tinge! The rose heart is a stamp with no writing or code
so unfortunately I don't know where this one is from! I coloured it
with my Le Plume II pens and then stamped; when that was dry
I then stamped again with the sentiment and added the gem.
The lace borders, one at the top has just been used twice but turned
the other way and I then also painted to match. Ribbons and Rose
buds from stash and finished off with little dots of Petal Pink liquid
pearls. TFL Sue xx

My First Card as Guest Designer at D & D!!

Over at Daisy and Dandelion they have a sketch challenge this
week. This is the card I have made for this fab sketch! Why
not hop over there and join in the fun!
For this card I have used the delightful Squeak, well part of
him anyway! he is just popping his head up to say Hi. The letters
I have drawn freehand and cut out. Coloured him with my
Tim Holtz Distressing Ink (Vintage Photo), papers are from
PM simply elegant and K & Co. The circle border is a paper
doily, the zigzag border on top of that, I have made by cutting
thin strips of the same paper and folding (concertina style) then
pulling out around the circle and fixing in place with glue.
I have made the little star the same way and placed a
diamante stone in the middle. Paper flowers are
punched and I have added a piece of hessian, ribbon
and rose bud from stash, also lace and buttons from stash.
I think I have covered everything.
Hope you like him, TFL Sue xx

"Easter Gardening with Friends"

Oh how cute are these stamps??? this is another one from the
Penny Black Garden Friends collection. The previous one was
the Easter Bunny with her Bonnet, there are nine transparent
images as well as a few bugs and one sentiment with this set
and all such a delight to colour! I have water coloured mine with
my pencils, the papers are from K & Co Amy Butler Designer
pack, punched the two hearts on the sentiment, buttons and
flowers from stash! As this is fitting I shall enter into the
Penny Black Challenge, which this week ask for an Easter card!

"Don't Forget to Smell the Roses"!!

Made this birthday card today the stamp I have had
for ages, it really is so detailed. I stamped with my black staz on
ink pad three times, I then watercoloured with my W & N pallet
and cut out. This gorgeous flock paper is from Laura Ashley and is
really like the flock wallpaper of old!! can anyone remember that?
One you want to stroke!!!!
I have cut and peeled back to expose so that the Roses are peeping
through! As you can see I have stamped and coloured the envelope
too!

The With Love sentiment is stamped and the other has been
made up on the computer. I have distressed all the papers
with an old emery board, which I think has done a mighty
fine job!

This is the preperation and stamping in process..

The Colour Create Challenge this week is Duck Egg Blue and Rose
so I think this fits the bill over there with the Rose being taken
literally!!

"Tilda Sprinkling Hearts"

This is the other Tilda stamp I bought (Tilda with basket of
hearts) this one is probably my favourite, well, apart from all
the others! tee hee..No I just love the Hawaiian Tilda, I really
need to get that one as that's where I got married oooh let
me see, mmm 1993!! wow 16 years ago this year, so fancy that
little cutie on my Anniversary card, (good enough excuse to buy
it I think)! So getting back to this one I've made it up as a
birthday card and coloured her with my water colour pencils and
added all the embellies from stash. The papers are from PM
Simply Elegant and K & Co Classic K McKenna. Hearts and
boarders I have cut freehand and used my Le Plume II pens
to doodle. Punched tiny butterfly, pearls from Crystal Stickers.
TFL Happy Sunny Saturday to you all! Sue xx

"Party Time"

Yes it's Party Time for Squeak, the Daisy and Dandelion bear! so
he has his brown fur coat on today!! holding his green balloon (which
also comes with this set) so to the sentiment! he even has some
glitter here and there! Whoo....
The Challenge this week over at D & D is "Two by Two" so,
2 papers, 2 Embellies, 2 brads etc; so this is my little take on it!
I have coloured him again using my watercolour pencils (maybe
because the copic fairy has not delivered any yet)!!! and added
flowers (2) buttons(2) and the (2) papers are from (Green) Laura
Ashley (Cream) PM Exquisite collection (which is a gorgeous pad).
The faux stitching is called Lavender Stitch which I have done
using my Jungle Green Le Plume II pen.
Happy Crafting!! TFL Sue xx

"Vintage Gorjuss"!!

I made this card this morning, well for the past 5 hrs
actually!!! after seeing the Truly Scrumptious Sketch.
What a fab layout it was to work with, I loved it!
Oval shapes always remind me of Cameo brooches so
I thought I would put my Gorjuss girl in the centre and
make the card vintage style. The theme is Flower Power
so have embellished with lots of different flowers and
rose buds! The papers are from K & Co Classic, the
Lace and Orange Ribbon (from stash) I have inked
and left to dry, the orange was really bright and needed
toning down a tad to match the flower see....................
The lace paper border around the picture is a "Make Me"
punch I've had for ages, it actually makes round doily
shapes so I made a few and distressed them, see.....

and then stuck them underneath. Image is coloured
using my water colour pencils and distressed with
Tim Holtz Vintage Photo. The image I stamped onto
cream parchment paper. The sentiment is computer
generated and little heart brads are from stash!
Think that's everything TFL Sue xx

"It's Nice to Have a Friend who's All Ears!!!

Oh so true, I saw this saying on an Easter stamp which
also stated not to put all your eggs in one basket!!!
Wise words from the Easter Bunny!!
Well this little cutie is from a Penny Black clear set
I purchased on Sunday when I was out shopping for
my trainers!!
I coloured her and her beautiful Easter Bonnet using
my Water Colour Pencils. The pastel yellow backing
paper is from MM Sydney collection and the flowers
I have cut out from an old 12 x 12 Embossed paper I
found which is K & Co. It definitely was a good thing
having a clear out, I found so many things tucked
away that I had forgot about.

The Easter Parade Sign I hand drew (on a separate
sheet of paper, just in case it didn't come out right)!
using my Le Plume II pen, as it seemed that was where
she was off to with her Easter Bonnet!
Lace down the side, paper daisies and ribbon is all
from stash. The heart shape I used my baking
cutting hearts shapes as a template and cut round
with my fancy edged scissors, this vibrant pink paper
is from K & Co Designer Amy Butler.
So the challenge over at Penny Black is "Think Spring"
and I think this one fits the bill with this little Springy
Character! Ooh I have just seen the ABC Challenge
H is for Hearts so will link her with this one too!!
Happy, or should I say Hoppy? Crafting!

"Daisy & Dandelion's Squeak"!

This is Squeak! He is soooo cute!!

This is the other bear in my set from the D & D collection -
Bubble & Squeak! Thought I would paint his fur grey this time
and use this lovely blue and gingham paper which is from the
Laura Ashley "Flock" range and then contrast it with this
vibrant Red!. He is water coloured with my Reeves water
colour pencils. Flowers have been punched with the same
papers and the little border is a stamp which comes along
with this fab set and also eight other stamps!!! so definitely
value for money, these images are a nice size to colour too.
Ribbons and brads from stash. The theme over at the
D & D challenge is friends, so I added this sentiment which
is computer generated. Hope you like him! TFL Sue xx

"A Relaxing Gorjuss Birthday"

This is the other Gorjuss (sitting) stamp I ordered. I painted her
on Saturday when I painted the other one. So yesterday I went
out looking for a pair of trainers!!! and what did I come back
with?......these gorgeous new papers from Dovecraft!!!
Don't you think they are just lush.............................

They are called Wild Blossom! As I love gardening and anything
to do with flowers I just had to have them. After pledging that I
would buy no more crafting stuff!! (My Husband just stood there
in amazement shaking his head)!! famous last words comes to
mind!...... But your Honour I didn't buy any trainers!!!
So as she was looking lovely and pink I thought I would
sit her in this beautiful big Pink (Hibiscus I think)? flower.
I cut out the same flower and two lots of leaves from another
sheet of the same paper. The leaves are so delicate they just
twisted and lifted their own way, which I left to give it a
natura 3d effect and just stuck where they laid flat naturally.
The tiny butterflies are stamped (Stamp is Santa Rosa CA 1999,
another golden oldie) with Staz on from another paper in this
set and then cut out too. I then finished off with some lovely
irridescent stones to make it look like dew drops on the flowers
and glittered to highlight certain parts of the leaves and
flowers and also the flower in her hair. As the ABC Challenge
is G for Glitter I decided to enter her for that. The sentiment was
printed directly onto the paper, I measured the size first and
used a plain white piece to make sure it would print where
I wanted it to, the wording was done using WordArt.
Think thats everything! TFL Sue xx
The cutting out proceedure! I then used 3d foam pads.

"A Gorjuss Easter"

This little card I made yesterday with My new Gorjuss Girl stamp
from Sugar Nellie and the Easter sentiment stamp is from the
Magnolia range. As this card fits the bill over at the
Sugar Bowl Challenge which asks for a Spring or Easter card that
incorporates a Sugar Nellie stamp, I thought I would enter it.
So why not head on over there and join in the fun!
The papers are from MM Fresh Anthology, Sydney Collection.
The paper heart was punched and then edged with water colour,
I only did this after as you could not distinguish between the two
yellow papers, so I placed an old piece of card just slightly under
the heart edge as I painted round. The wooden heart is from
Hobbycraft, ribbon, lace and buttons from stash!
