That's the challenge over on Julie's blog! She is celebrating her
first year of blogging and has some fabulous stash to giveaway!!
and I know that when it comes to elegant cards she is the Queen!!!
she has inspired me so much as I do tend to be quite random!!
(understatement)!! I just love a bit of variety!! (spice of life an all
that)!! so when I take a look at Julie's cards she definately reins
me in!!! Click on the link to take part....you need to make an
elegant card which incorporates a flower that you have made
yourself..........Well here is my card, I made it with Julie's cards
in mind, what they represent to me and also a Thank you to her.
I hope she approves!!
Here is how it was made....................
Thought I would go for a fabric flower (I have sooo much fabric,
I love it!!! another of my obsessions)!!! and I just love this cream
lace and satin, which were remnants! I used my trusted
sellotape template to cut out the large circles and my paperweight
and smaller tape for the others, I cut out five in total. To get the
shape of the petals I folded the circles in half and cut a slice at
either end leaving about an inch in the centre.
You can see I left one circle plain.
After pressing I placed them on top of each other with the
smallest on the inside. I then folded them all in half and
stitched three times one way and folded the other way
and stitched another three to secure them all together.
I then used my craft knife to make a hole for the brad
which is in a beautiful pearl and silver from Craftwork.
I placed a 25mm cream satin ribbon along the centre of
the card. I also cut out three flowers from the lace fabric
and attached crystal stones to the centre of each one.
I then cut the same card with deckled scissors and
stamped the Thank you sentiment in Versa Color
Sand Beige and also inked the edges, placed a lace
flower in the top left corner and secured inside the card!
Hey Presto!!!! One handmade flower card!!!
