Sarah Kay Rules OK!!!

This has got to be my favourite Sarah Kay image; I think
her drawings are so detailed, they seem to go with all
occasions for cardsmaking. Made this little one for my
friend who's boyfriend has the farm - remember cow-boy!!!!
well she has just had some chicks hatch and thought this
worked well. I just need to improve my watercolour
painting - I think I use too much water???? TFL xx

Shopping at Tiffany's!!

Here is the Tiffany Bag, this was done for an 18th Birthday.
Same style as the Chanel Bag, made my own template, I
copied the fold patterns of a normal shopping bag. Used
rivets for handle cord and added designer names, also
added a little silver heart embellishment. TFL xx

Designer Dreams!!!

Made a few of these birthday cards, I know you are
not meant to use brand names, but surely it's free
advertising for them? I also do a Tiffany one, if I can find the
picci I'll post it. Bag is made from my own template. Cord
threaded through holes made with rivet gun. Card
is a nice glossy black, Dior bow is made by folding ribbon
at different lengths then securing by sewing the central one,
which is wrapped around in the other direction. Tissue paper
is added to bag for effect. TFL xx

Watering Can Fan!

Here's a card I did for an avid gardening fan. I drew the
watering can shape freehand onto white card to use as a
template and cut it out.
I then drew around it onto silver mirri card and cut out.
I drew a heart pattern on the front and spout in a blue/green
pencil to make it look weathered. Added lots and lots of flowers.
Sign is stamped and wood effect is hand drawn. Ribbon and
butterflies from stash. TFL xx

Flutter By......

This was a request for a ladies 60th birthday.
Two different sized butterfly rubber stamps were used.
The larger one is Inkadinkadoo, smaller is Inca Stamp Co.
Both stamped with staze on black ink, then hand painted with
sparkling H2o's and cut out. For the background I painted
straight onto the rubber stamps again with sparking H20's
but spritzed with water to give a softer less concentrated
effect. The box was also stamped this way to match.
Sentiment is Hero Arts stamp, stamped with embossing ink
and heat set. Peel off sentiment placed on ribbon and
coloured with peel off colouring pens to match.
Ribbon and gem from stash. TFL xx

The Anniversary Waltz!

Well I have been a busy bee!!!! As myself and my beloved are
celebrating our 15th Wedding Anniversary today I thought
I would make him a special card. Firstly though, I must tell
you that 15 years represents Crystal, so I got my thinking
cap on and thought I'd make him a clear card
(made from acetate) as in Crystal Clear, (are you with me?)!!
well I set off to Hobbycraft, and £97.00 later!!!! Oh My
Goodness that was really expensive acetate....I dare not
tell my husband how much his card cost!!!!!!!!tee hee
anyway I am really pleased with the result, I also added
some Swarovski Crystals to the hearts in the corners just
to fit in with the theme. The Poem is called The Thousandth
Man and is by Rudyard Kipling and I think it sums up my
husbands devotion and loyalty to me ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I hope you like it!!!...Just to let you know I also made a
New Baby Card, a 21st Birthday and another Halloweenie,
but I need a nice cuppa right now, so will post those later!!!!!

Monday 13 October 2008

Baby Lace!

Thought I'd post you some of my old designs as I am
still suffering from Friday...I can't drink like I used to!!!
Well I can drink, but my body can't take it!!!!
I just adore making these cards with the lace and pastel
colours. I hope you like them!!!!

I have just finished this 21st Birthday Card. It's for my
cousin's daughter. We are off to her party tonight!!!!
Here comes the Weekend!!! Hooray! and the weather
is going to be nice, even better!

Flower Power - I've actually made this card owl shaped,
then cut out different shapes in different coloured papers
and stuck them on. Be Wise! Don't get your feathers ruffled!!!

Blushes or Flushes?

Made this card for my Big Sis's Birthday as she
is experiencing her own personal heatwaves at
the moment!!! Stamp is Dolly Mama stamped
with black staz on and coloured with wc pencils,
added red glitter sparkles to dots. Added liquid
pearl for her hair. Happy Birthday is doodlebug
rub-on, Sister is peel off. Papers from DCWV.
I Love the message on her bag - (Is it Hot in
here?) quite appropriate! TFL xx

Raw Hide!!!!

Just thought I'd post this quirky little card I made for my friend.
Her other half farms cows and does other great stuff on his farm.
I think it's so nice to see the fields full of livestock again, let's hope
it continues so we can be proud once again of all our produce and
please try to support your local farm shop.

Come into my Parlour.......

The Spider and the Fly

Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly,
'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to shew when you are there.
" Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again."
"I'm sure you must be weary, dear, with soaring up so high;
Will you rest upon my little bed?" said the Spider to the Fly.
"There are pretty curtains drawn around; the sheets are fine and thin,
And if you like to rest awhile, I'll snugly tuck you in!"
Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "for I've often heard it said,
They never, never wake again, who sleep upon your bed!"
Said the cunning Spider to the Fly, " Dear friend what can I do,
To prove the warm affection I 've always felt for you?
I have within my pantry, good store of all that's nice;
I'm sure you're very welcome -- will you please to take a slice?"
"Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "kind Sir, that cannot be,
I've heard what's in your pantry, and I do not wish to see!"
"Sweet creature!" said the Spider, "you're witty and you're wise,
How handsome are your gauzy wings, how brilliant are your eyes!
I've a little looking-glass upon my parlour shelf,
If you'll step in one moment, dear, you shall behold yourself."
"I thank you, gentle sir," she said, "for what you 're pleased to say,
And bidding you good morning now, I'll call another day.
" The Spider turned him round about, and went into his den,
For well he knew the silly Fly would soon come back again:
So he wove a subtle web, in a little corner sly,
And set his table ready, to dine upon the Fly.
Then he came out to his door again, and merrily did sing,
"Come hither, hither, pretty Fly, with the pearl and silver wing;
Your robes are green and purple -- there's a crest upon your head;
Your eyes are like the diamond bright, but mine are dull as lead!"
Alas, alas! how very soon this silly little Fly,
Hearing his wily, flattering words, came slowly flitting by;
With buzzing wings she hung aloft, then near and nearer drew,
Thinking only of her brilliant eyes, and green and purple hue --
Thinking only of her crested head -- poor foolish thing! At last,
Up jumped the cunning Spider, and fiercely held her fast.
He dragged her up his winding stair, into his dismal den,
Within his little parlour -- but she ne'er came out again!
And now dear little children, who may this story read,
To idle, silly flattering words, I pray you ne'er give heed:
Unto an evil counsellor, close heart and ear and eye,
And take a lesson from this tale, of the Spider and the Fly.

Wondrous Webs!
For all you spider lovers out there!!!(Is there any???)
A couple of weekends ago we decided to tidy the garden
preparing for the winter. We spent all weekend pruning
and grass cutting with a bit of topiary thrown in for good
measure. We didn't finish until late on Sunday Evening,
so I suggested we put the six large bags of garden waste
into the car which I could take to the local tip
early Monday Morning!!! WARNING!!!!!!!!!!
(Do Not Do This!). I took the rubbish on Monday
morning and did not use the car again until Wed, by which
time about Six!!! spiders had woven their new homes
inside the car, directly across the front and back windows.
Not being the tallest of people the car seat is as close as
possible to the front window, exactly where the webs
were spun!!! Well after clearing out what I could see, I
thought that would be the last of it.....oh no.... as I
was driving I caught sight out of the corner of my eye,
a big brown one gently backing into the air vent, OMG!!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....I was driving
down a busy road so could not do what my instincts
were telling me!!Get the Hell out of There!!!!!
We decided to hoover the car thoroughly thinking this
would do the trick.........oh no. I don't know how many
are left in there, but each time we use it there is another
web!! and I have not seen the big brown one from
the vent since!!! It's even worse when we have to use
the car at night, as you don't know if any are on the prowl!!!
So be warned, don't leave any garden waste in the
car over-night!!!! I have posted some pictures of
the garden!! Enjoy
P.S. Is anyone interested in buying my car?
(We have had a lot of fungi this year, has anyone else?)
it is everywhere and lots of different varieties as well.

poor thing and us! have to go through chasing him, coaxing him
and dragging him from under the bed, all over again, next week!!!!
