Christmas Window!!

Oohh I just love this stamp, another golden oldie!!! it's from
Santa Rosa CA. Stamped him in metallic gold then water
coloured piccie with a mixture of browns and deep reds, added
sparkles to heart, star and tree. Matted and layered with
DCWV cardstock, added gems to punched snowflakes
and bottom of sentiment. Snowflakes are made from a lovely
brown and gold sparkly glitter card. Added beautiful
Icelandic Blue Velvet ribbon (it's soo lush I don't like
using it that often, just stroking it!!!!) TFL xx
P.S. sorry these photos are so bad, it was very late.
P.P.S. Am off to NYC tomorrow, Yippee!!!! so no posting
for a while, but no doubt there will plenty of new candy
to play with when I get back. xx

Banner Cards!!

Made these little cards last night. Thought the papers looked
like old fashioned wallpaper, (they are from K & Co Classic range)
so what better than to add a Christmas banner!!! Distressed card
stock to match paper. Punched out hearts from gold card and
also white paper (used this to stick to back to hide thread) laid
the embroidery thread along them and glued. Secured with
these tiny brads. These can be made up with all sorts of
messages, (No rude ones please!!)TFL xx

Young or Old!!! Coming to a Town Near You....Very Soon!!!

Created this little chappie this morning, I don't know what it
is about these crisp frosty mornings??? but I am in my craft
room by 7.30 ready with fresh ideas??? can't be bad!!.. I'd
better make the most of it while it lasts. Well I thought I'd do
a little demo, bit by bit so you can watch him come to life
right before your eyes......OK..........

You can see the punches I have used from the picture (click on
photo's for close-up) The antlers have been cut out freehand,
they don't have to be exactly the same shape, it makes them
more interesting! (idea for these came from my Christmas Pud
icing!!) The oval is used one way for the head and
the other way for part of his face. I also drew his mouth (with
a white gel pen) using bottom half of the oval shape. His little
nose is the small heart punch in black card (also added two
white dots with gel pen), his ears are the long heart shape cut
in half!

As you can see I have used a slightly darker metallic brown
card for the oval on his nose, this gives an illusion of depth!
Once you are happy with his features (he seems happy with
his looks!!!) fix down with double sided tape. The larger
circle for his nose I have used one layer of foam pads.
For the tag, I used the same circle punch (this punch has
definately got to be one of my most used!) although I have
two shades here I opted for the darker one and red in the
end. Stamped with encore metallic gold! Merry Christmas
Stamp is from Hero Arts.
Lovely clean image, I then added a gold eyelet before cutting
out with deckled scissors.
Red circle is stamped with a star cluster stamp from Rubber
Stampede, again with gold metallic embossing ink. Used a
gold wired cord, piece of white lace (which I soaked with
some old tea bags to stain!!!) a piece of red gingham
ribbon, then to finish off added two gold bells! You can also
see in this picture the holly punch which I used with the
same coloured card as his antlers.

Oooh love this effect!!!

Placed the punched holly randomly over the card.... Hey
presto a Star is born . TFL xxx

Heart Shaped Wreath Card!

(Please click on image for close-up)
Firstly cut out the heart shape on white card using deckled
scissors, I find when you are cutting out anything freehand
you seem to get a more forgiving shape with these scissors!
I then cut to size a piece of velum and stamped my PB stamp
(which is a lovely quote by marcel proust!) with Encore!
ultimate metallic. Set a silver eyelet in the corner and added
white organza ribbon. I then placed three layers of foam pads
under the heart to give it a real lift. Then added silver holly
leaves, punched heart shapes from metallic and silver
glitter card, added lovely iridescent snowflakes and beads,
a large silver star and some smaller ones, I made the bow at
the bottom from silver string beads.
Good morning all you crafty bloggers, well the sun is shining
today; it's a lovely crisp morning here in Maldon, so I thought
I'd make a nice Silver wintery wreath card. This card is so
adaptable, it can be made plain or add as much detail as you
want, put your own personal message inside, have one
hanging from the middle! also the colour combinations are
endless, Gold would be pretty, pink, blue oooh take your pick!
They can be heart shaped or circular!
Think I will enter this one in the penny black Saturday
Challenge, here is the link if you would like to enter
this week (25) they are asking for your design to be made
without the use of any patterned paper, but you must
incorporate a penny black stamp. TFL and good luck xx

Two more Vintage Style!!

Please click on pictures for a closer view!
Here are another two that were inspired by those two little
vintage cards of mine, not so much their pictures, more the
sentiments. I have used K & Co papers on both of these from
their classic range. A little secret here.....shhh...don't tell
anyone but as I don't possess any of those new fancy gadgets,
i.e die cutting machines, or nestie thingy's I saw these
beautiful coasters!!!! yes thats right paper coasters, well I
thought they were too damn nice to place me wine glass upon!!
so here they are, the white one is really fine and beautifully
embossed, the Green one is embossed just around the edges,
flower brad is from DC, added liquid pearls in Ruby Red. TFL xx

Warm Woolie Wishes!!

These little embellishments just rock!!! they are Joe Cool!!!
they are from my Artworks and they come in black and white
and a lovely cool blue and white.
These papers are from DC, punched snowflakes and
added little gems to centre, tinsel and pom pom ribbon
from papermania. TFL xx

Ruby Rudy in Flowers!!

I just love this stamp, its from Inkadinkadoo, and can be stamped
in an array of colours. This was stamped with Color Box Ruby, I
have added punched flowers in white and red to carry on the trail,
with red and irridescent sparkles added to centre.
Red flower stone brad is from DC, organza wide ribbon tied at top
and I have sewn on a little red jingle bell.
Red swirl paper underneath is DCWV Christmas glitter stack.

A Little bit of Card Making History!!!

Hello all you crafty bloggers, I don't know if any of you have heard
of a Company called Raphael, Tuck & Sons? but they were prolific
printers in the 1800s. They produced books, postcards, greeting
cards, die cut cards, fringed silk cards, scrapbook, puzzles and more.
They were granted a Royal Warrant by none other than
Queen Victoria herself!!!mmm pretty interesting hey!!
They were based in Moorfields (London), but it was destroyed in
the London Bombing Blitz of WWII along with original art work,
postcards, and history records. On a good note, they were so
popular that there are quite a few of their cards in circulation
today, mainly by collectors! Well I happen to have one!!! whooo
I bought a few antique cards from a market stall about 6 years
ago and found them the other day.....so I thought I'd share two
of the Christmas cards with you and thought a little bit of
history should repeat itself and have used one of the poems.
The sentiments are so sincere and beautiful the cards are tiny,
only about 3" high, but are really sweet, they are both
Christmas cards although I would have thought the little
chicks would have been better for Easter, but
then maybe they didn't have that many pictures then???
Here is a picture of them and my one using the same
sentiment! Enjoy them, I hope they inspire you! TFL xx

Snow way it took me all day!!!!

Oh yes it did!!!
Firstly stamped with Staz-On black ink. Stamp is from Uptown
Rubber stamps, I have had this one a few years now so don't
know if it is still available! I then coloured the image with my
W & N watercolour Pencils. Little tip here, I found by colouring
all around the image in a light shade it emphasized the image and
made the snow look more realistic! Another tip - I read somewhere
that by putting little white dots on your images face it
draws the eyes in!!!! whooo get me!!!

For the background I used a silk paper embossed with Merry
Christmas, I water coloured all around the edges of this
and my image to co-ordinate. Punched out heart shapes
in baby blue shimmer card. I found some lovely clear
buttons with the word snow, I threaded these with fine
white raffia and attached them with silicone glue and
placed them on top of the hearts. I drew around a heart
shape (from an aperture card) with a water colour pencil
in the same blue, this made it easier to blend and colour
once I had cut out the shape. Punched out snowflakes
from white glitter card and added to the heart.
Added double foam pads to heart to give it a real lift,
added beautiful satin baby blue ribbon and bow and also
white ric rac ribbon down side. Punched out little stars in
the same baby blue shimmer paper and added little star
gems on top then placed on each corner of image.
This is the finished card, I am really pleased with the result.
Thought I'd show you it in stages. TFL xx
