"The Owl and the Pussycat"!!

Made for an Anniversary
....And they danced by the light of the moon....
The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
'O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are, You are, You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!'
Pussy said to the Owl, 'You elegant fowl!
How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?'
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-tree grows,
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood,
With a ring at the end of his nose, His nose, His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.
'Dear pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?' Said the Piggy, 'I will.
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon, The moon, The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.
Oh I just love this poem by Edward Lear so I have made this
card for friends as an Anniversary card, here is my little step
by step guide:-

Firstly stamped my cat and owl, coloured with pencils and cut
out.

The boat I drew freehand and cut out from card to keep as
a template.

I then drew around it onto my lovely pea green paper from
BG Lime Rickey and drew panels in.
I then coloured it in with brown pencils to define the wood.
As you can see here the stamps in the background, the owl is
a PB Christmas one, so I just inked it without the
hat!tee hee, I do have the secret garden set but the owls were
too small! The cat stamp is from 'Ink it'. I have punched out a
circle for the moon in beautiful gold mirri card and freehand
cut it to shape a half moon and also punched the lovely stars,
I have also added some panels to the front of the boat to give
it a nice moonlight shine!
Here I have arranged the rest of the papers which are from
BG Lime Rickey and Marrakesh. I have also printed the
sentiment across the green paper using the computer.
Hope you like it! Thanks for looking Sue xx
