Mr Right!!!

Last one using the computer generated tags I produced! and
steering away from the vibrant Pink I Think!! anyway
inspiration for this has to go to the v. talented Terri at
her blog, her scrapbook pages are amazing!!
Used punched and paper flowers, paper doilies distressed with
Tim Holtz vintage photo ink, papers, K & Co designer. TFL xx

CHA-CHA-CHA!!!

Well, for all you crafty bloggers who, if like me, didn't have a clue what
people were talking about when they mentioned CHA, I have now
cracked the code, Yippee!!!!
(They are not all off to a Tea Convention or to learn a new dance)!!!...

CHA stands for the Craft and Hobby Association!
In early 2004, the two most successful organisations serving the craft
and hobby industry, the Hobby Industry Association (HIA) and the
Association of Crafts & Creative Industries (ACCI), amalgamated to
form the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA).
Their goal is to stimulate the sales growth of the craft and hobby
industry worldwide by creating consumer demand, helping members
succeed and leading the industry. They are actively involved in national
promotional events designed to increase customers' knowledge and
awareness of industry products. Well acording to their stats Crafting
is now a $31 billion dollar market in the U.S., Wow!!!
So there you have it!!! Credit Crunch? What Credit Crunch?? xx

I'm with Cupid!!

Card No. 3 from the Pink n Bold "In your Face" range!!!lol!!

Just to let you know that all the sentiments, hearts and letters
used on these cards have been computer generated and
then cut out! I was having a little play on Saturday and have
printed below piccies of the result. They can be either
printed onto coloured or white card! I found it quite amazing
how many different images and shapes that can be created using
microsoft word! Great for journaling too!! TFL xx
These are done by inserting text boxes or shapes!
Let your imagination run wild! that way you get
to choose your own sentiments and are not
restricted to your rubber stamps!!! TFL xx

Valentine...Be Mine!!!

Made these two cards yesterday! the first being inspired by
the labels you somethimes get on your clothes,
don't you just love it when they have string, ribbons and
stamped fabric attached.....ooh, (or is it just me)??? maybe
I'm easily pleased?? errrr (don't think so)!! anyway that
was my inspiration for the first one, the second being
inspired by the hearts I made on the previous bird
valentine card! Well, I just cut out some bigger hearts
and added a few computer generated sayings, lace,
flowers, gems, ribbons, etc; and this was the result!!! TFL xx

Credit Crunch Mantra!!!

....My Health is My Wealth....
I saw this on a T shirt and thought it was quite apt,
in as much as that's what really matters at the end of the
day! don't you think???

Monochrome Heart!!

Made this Valentines card yesterday! I wanted to get the effect
of an old fashioned cast iron sign! Images were stamped with
Jet Black Staz on, then cut out with craft knife and scissors, I used
deckled which I think gives a much better shape than normal
scissors when cutting out intricate items! computer generated
sentiment, added stickles Stardust and gems to the Roses and
Swirls! the Rose and Vine stamp is an oldie from petaluma CA
(don't know if they are still going)? and the beautiful corner swirl
stamp is from Papermania (I stamped half again down the side
to make it longer), used three layers of foam pads to give a good
lift and cut out two strips of white paper and drew black swirls
for the heart chain! TFL xx

Liverpool Street Station - This is fab!!

Art with Hart!!!

Let's all say a big "THANK YOU" for the inspiring work
that Tony Hart dedicated his life to! He was a joy to watch, his
friendly tone and natural enthusiasm was what made his
programme so great!!! and of course to see if your art work had
made it onto "the gallery"!!
We need more creative programmes on the TV for
children rather than the brain-washing, money-making
nonsense that is on today!!!

Paper Applique!

Made my first Valentine card for this year today! Thought I'd try
to make the base of the card resemble a patchwork quilt; I cut out
patches (squares of paper) with pinking shears and used a pen for
the cross stitches. Bird and hearts I have hand drawn onto card
templates (as shown below) then cut out with similar fabric looking
papers to make it look like Applique! added gems, ribbon and
sentiment. TFL xx
Patchwork Papers!!!
Folded over paper to cut out two at a time!!

Drawn freehand, hearts and bird shapes??? (I know they
look nothing like birds here) and cut out!

Recycle, Recycle, Recycle!!!!

Just finished cutting out next years tags from this years
Christmas cards!!!

2009 Calendar!!!

Hello to all you crafty bloggers out there!!! Well, I've been
busy trying to put together a home made calendar with our
piccies from New York!! I started off in colour, then decided
some looked good in black and white; so I printed a few off in
black and white??? then thought mmm... shall I use both???
but in the end decided to keep it all the same, so had to reprint
all the colour ones!!! what with trying to decide which piccies
to use and which months to place them on!!!phew!! you can
imagine, it's taken me most of the day, it has been fun though.
Well I have finally finished and here is the result!!
I might try and take a new picture each month (something
appropriate or relating to occasions in the months) and see
if I have enough to make up one for next year!!! TFL xx

(January is already in place then reading down from the right
then down from the left is how they will be placed, i.e. the Tiffany
sign will be in June, which just happens to be my birthday month
ooh)!!!

I have torn off the front cover cut out the year and made up
the word New York with the letters then stuck them onto the
bottom of the back page.

New Years Resolutions!!!

Well you are not going to believe this one...........wait for it...........
OK....I will not buy any magazines this year!!!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha
No I will not!!!! I will not buy a magazine this year!!!! No...I...
Well I will just have to stay away from any shops that sell them,
Oh No, Tescos, M&S, my local Craft Shop, Smiths and Oh what if
there is a freebie??? a rubber stamp???? what will I do then,
surely that justifies it?????? no, no, no, no, no!!!!
The reason I must do this is, that my house is insulated on all
walls with magazines!! I have every magazine you can think of
from Home, Cooking, Knitting, Crafting, Fashion, Art, Music,
you name it, there is a magazine in my house for it (well apart
from fly fishing)!!! and.. I can't bear to part with any of them!!!
I know I need them all and that there is something in each one
of them that I will surely need if ever I threw it away!!
Good Point..they are keeping the heat in at the moment!!!!
We wait in anticipation...any remedies greatly accepted!!
The other one is to stick by the quote on the opposite side
which says "eat less, chew more", "talk less, say more" etc;
Why do I do all the wrong ones????? I will have to print that
one out and carry it with me!!!! Hope you all had a fabulous 2008
and that 2009 will be bring good things your way!!
TFL xx

Wake Up Milton!!!! It's 2009!!!

This cat is sooooooooooo lazy!!!!!
He said "wake me up when it's all over"!
I said what, YOUR LIFE??? or CHRISTMAS???!!
I must admit though, when I am rushing
through the day and catch a glimpse of him
lying upside down on the bed, it melts my
heart and makes me stop and take a deep
breath! then of course I have to go and give
him a big kiss!!!!

I Love this Poem by T.S. Elliot
(Definately Milton in his salad days)!!!

Macavity the Mystery Cat

Macavity's a Mystery Cat: he's called the Hidden Paw--
For he's the master criminal who can defy the Law.
He's the bafflement of Scotland Yard, the Flying Squad's despair:
For when they reach the scene of crime--Macavity's not there!

Macavity, Macavity, there's no one like Macavity,
He's broken every human law, he breaks the law of gravity.
His powers of levitation would make a fakir stare,
And when you reach the scene of crime--
Macavity's not there!
You may seek him in the basement, you may look up in the air--
But I tell you once and once again, Macavity's not there!

Macavity's a ginger cat, he's very tall and thin;
You would know him if you saw him, for his eyes are sunken in.
His brow is deeply lined with thought, his head is highly domed;
His coat is dusty from neglect, his whiskers are uncombed.
He sways his head from side to side, with movements like a snake;
And when you think he's half asleep, he's always wide awake.

Macavity, Macavity, there's no one like Macavity,
For he's a fiend in feline shape, a monster of depravity.
You may meet him in a by-street, you may see him in the square--
But when a crime's discovered, then Macavity's not there!

He's outwardly respectable. (They say he cheats at cards.)
And his footprints are not found in any file of Scotland Yard's.
And when the larder's looted, or the jewel-case is rifled,
Or when the milk is missing, or another Peke's been stifled,
Or the greenhouse glass is broken, and the trellis past repair--
Ay, there's the wonder of the thing! Macavity's not there!

And when the Foreign Office finds a Treaty's gone astray,
Or the Admiralty lose some plans and drawings by the way,
There may be a scap of paper in the hall or on the stair--
But it's useless to investigate--Macavity's not there!
And when the loss has been disclosed, the Secret Service say:
"It must have been Macavity!"--but he's a mile away.
You'll be sure to find him resting, or a-licking of his thumbs,
Or engaged in doing complicated long division sums.

Macavity, Macavity, there's no one like Macavity,
There never was a Cat of such deceitfulness and suavity.
He always has an alibi, or one or two to spare:
And whatever time the deed took place--
MACAVITY WASN'T THERE!
And they say that all the Cats whose wicked deeds are
widely known
(I might mention Mungojerrie, I might mention Griddlebone)
Are nothing more than agents for the Cat who all the time
Just controls their operations: the Napoleon of Crime!

TS Eliot (1939)

Well we took all the Christmas decorations
down yesterday (reluctantly)!! it's sooo bare
it looks like we have just moved in!!!
Here are a few piccies of our Crimbo decorations..

Theme was Gold, Brown and Duck Egg blue
this year to coordinate with the lounge!

The fireplace at night would be lit with candles
which made it feel really cosy. Centre coffee table
(fish tank!! you will see the fish if you click on
the picture), I filled one of my vases with
lovely tangerines and placed it on a "Lazy Susan"
(whoever thought that one up is wrong)!! which
I covered with nuts and fruit, chocolate and lemons!!
mmmm

Hallway, notice the mistletoe, just in case George
Clooney got lost and found himself at my house???
nothing and no one!! gets away without being touched
by the tinsel fairy!!!
